On November 7, 2017, a general election will be held for the following positions on the
Governing Body for the City of Moran:

Mayor and Two City Council Members Currently Held by:

Phillip Merkerl
Chad Lawson
James Mueller

Please note a candidate City Council must reside within Moran’s city limits.

 

In this package, you will find a copy of the following forms:

  • Candidates Declaration of Intention
  • Kansas Non-Partisan City/School Nomination Petition (Required if you choose to file in lieu of paying the $5 filing fee. Petition form requires the signature of 32 registered voters)
  • Statement of Substantial Interests for Local Office
  • Affidavit of Exemption from filing receipts and expenditures reports by a candidate for City/County Office.
  • Appointment of Treasurer or Candidate Committee Form


Filing Forms are available in a form fill PDF format should you wish to complete the forms and print from your personal computer (link).  Please contact City Hall with a valid e-mail address and the packet will be sent to you electronically.


Please take time to read over all of this information. Once completed, please return the following completed forms to the Allen County Clerk’s Office or Moran City Hall  no later than 12:00 noon on Thursday, June 1, 2016.

Please note that if you spend more than $500 on your campaign, you must file a Receipts and Expenditures Report with the Allen County Clerk’s Office within 30 days after the election.

 

The General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017.  If three or more candidates file for the Mayoral position or four or more candidates file for the Council positions, a Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2017.
